Safe Native American Passengers Training

What is SNAP?

A culturally appropriate one-day course introducing child passenger safety.

Target audience: anyone who works with families and children in tribal communities, including community health representatives, public safety (law enforcement) officials and transportation providers.

Learning objectives

  • Understand basic elements of correct installation of child restraints
  • Recognize and correct obvious misuse of child restraints
  • Educate parents/caregivers
  • Volunteer at a car seat or check-up event

Child Passenger Safety on School Buses National Training: CPST Version – In-person Offering

This national training provides an overview of the use of child safety restraint systems on school buses, with a focus on preschool-aged children and children with disabilities. Instructional videos are incorporated throughout the training. Participants are provided time for hands-on practice.

NOTE: This is the CPST Version of the new Child Passenger Safety on School Buses National Training. Currently certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will earn 3.5 CEUs for completion of all training requirements. It’s a full-day session. Maximum 30 registrants. This national training provides an overview of the use of child safety restraint systems on school buses, with a focus on preschool-aged children and children with disabilities. Instructional videos are incorporated throughout the training. Participants are provided time for hands-on practice.

NOTE: This is the Pupil Transportation Version of the new Child Passenger Safety on School Buses National Training. Currently certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will earn 3.5 CEUs for completion of all training requirements. It’s a full-day session. Maximum 80 registrants.
