E-Learnings

Car Seat Basics (FREE): Keep children safe in cars as they grow by completing all or specific modules on rear-facing and forward-facing car seat use, as well as booster seat and seat belt use.

This e-learning takes about 60 minutes to complete.

National Safety Council Children in Hot Cars Training (FREE): Learn the three primary circumstances that have led to children dying in hot cars and what we can do to prevent these deaths.

This e-learning takes about 15 minutes to complete.


National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Training

The National Child Passenger Safety Board maintains the quality and integrity of the nationally standardized curriculum used to train and certify Child Passenger Safety Technicians and Instructors. This training provides basic technical knowledge about car seats, booster seats and seat belt systems as well as the opportunity to practice educating on the safe transportation of children.

In-Person

The National CPST Certification Training combines classroom instruction and hands-on activities in a classroom setting over a 3-4 day period. Find a Training Course Near You.


Hybrid

The National Child Passenger Safety Board is excited to announce it is actively developing a hybrid offering of the 2020 National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Training curriculum to include e-learning, virtual and in-person components. This is an ongoing project with an anticipated release date of late 2021. National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Renewal Testing Course

The National CPST Certification Renewal Testing Course allows former CPSTs, who are expired less than one year (recommended), the opportunity to renew their CPST certification by demonstrating proficiency of knowledge and skills. Additional Trainings

CPS Restraint Systems on School Buses: This training addresses the unique issues of installing child safety restraint systems on school buses. You do not need to be nationally certified child passenger safety technician to take this course.

Instructor Development: The goal of the Instructor Development course is to enhance the instructional skills of child passenger safety instructors.
