Tuesday, Dec. 12 (2-3 ET): Booster Seats and Belt Fit – Recent Research Findings from Volunteer Studies and Sled Testing. Booster seats:

  • Improve the fit of the seat belt
  • Increase comfort
  • Prevent slouched postures

During this webinar, you will gain an understanding of optimal belt fit for children in boosters and learn to evaluate child posture across different booster designs. Additionally, results will be presented from a recent sled-testing study which investigated the influence of difference aspects of belt fit on dynamic outcomes during simulated frontal impacts. Presenters: Drs. Julie Mansfield and Gretchen Baker (Ohio State University).

Tuesday, Jan. 16 (2-3 ET): Updates to the UN Car Seat Regulations – A Guide for North American Car Seat Techs. Have you ever wondered what makes a European car seat different from a car seat sold in the U.S.? In this session, we will discuss changes to the UN child restraint regulations and how they will impact car seats in Europe and many other countries around the world. Additionally, we will discuss how the vehicle regulatory environment also impacts the use of child restraints globally. Finally, we will touch on the availability of UN regulated car seats in the U.S. Presenter: Sarah Haverstick, Child Passenger Safety Instructor, Goodbaby International.
