2015 Technician of the Year

The National Child Passenger Safety Board is pleased to honor Shawn Vovericz, a Life Skills Caseworker for the Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families, as the 2015 Child Passenger Safety Technician of the Year. Vovericz, from West Chester, PA, is a technician who has been dedicated to child passenger safety for the past 13 years. Vovericz works with a team of volunteer technicians in Chester County representing DCYF, the Sheriff’s and Highway Safety Offices, the local hospital and other social service agencies. Vovericz is determined to stay current in new vehicle and safety seat technology. She remains passionate about this role because “It is the fact that vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children in the United States and there is still a large percentage of misuse; education is a huge part of what I do.” A member of the Safe Kids Coalition of Chester County since 2001, Vovericz has served as co-coordinator since 2007.

2015 Instructor of the Year

The National Child Passenger Safety Board is pleased to honor Suzanne Cash LeDoyen, from Wake County Human Services Public Health Center, as the 2015 Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor of the Year.
